Launching a new career!

"Dear TTI: I want to thank all the teachers at TTI for their wonderful work. It is difficult to work with so many diverse cultures, and I very much respect the patience it takes to work with adult students. I wasn't sure as I was going through school how I was going to use the knowledge TTI gave me, but it all came together and made starting a new carreer easier. I love my new career and am very much looking forward to expanding into new and exciting fields in the industry. I speak with TTI grads every day and they are very happy with how thier careers are taking off. The travel our industry offers is exciting, and I have traveled more this year than I have my whole life. I went on the C.I.T.C students trip to Europe and what an exciting trip that was. I learned so much about Europe and travel in general. I hold TTI responsible for the knowledge I use every day. Thank you for all you have done for me."

Hi Kim!

"I meant to write you earlier in the week and let you know how things went, but i got a little busy.

I had a really good interview with Spencer, the manager of Travel Cuts/The Adventure Company... he decided to bring me in for my practicum right there on the spot.

So I started this week, and it's been a little crazy...you are right in saying that it is a busy place …I have to say, it's so neat to see all those documents like paper tickets, e-tickets, credit card charge forms, and all those other ones in a real life setting. Doing the bookings on an airline ticket and having to enter the taxes and such...its all coming back to me! hehe."

Everything is going fine at North South Travel, and Amanda S., one of your ex-students at TTI, says hello to you. She has the same impression of our teacher, and she said I was lucky having had you as my instructor. She works at North South Travel since 1 and a half year ago.

"All [local] graduates of the Tour Guiding and Directing program of recent and from the last year and a half have been employed as guides and directors by the following companies: Disney, Saga tours, Grand Circle Travel and Scenic tours. As for [the international] graduates currently 3 out of the 5 are working as guides/directors for Asian companies."

"I work with both Canjet Airlines as an In Charge flight attendant-- which is now a charter company -- also Air Canada Jazz -- love the Flight Attendant position however-- i will be pulling my wings in the next year or so-- to work with Transport Canada as Cabin Safety Inspector -- Hope all is good out there in yvr with the classes -- I really enjoyed the course!! it helped me a lot along the way --- my advice to any of your students would be --- Be Persistent –"

"…I started this week with Great Expeditions.

They are a tour operator offering natural history, cultural, arts, sports, ecotourism, etc..  It is just perfect for me, my interest is in all those areas, and the convenience of being located at 25th and Oak.

The owner of Great Expeditions also owns a Hagen's Travel & Cruise agency which is great for me so I will continue to learn about agency work and using my Apollo skills.

Thank you for being there for me on short notice as a reference.  This time around references were not required.  I sold myself!

" I was waiting for the call from World Flight Services and yesterday I received the phone call from WFS … they offered me the Cruiseship Passenger service agent  as a part time job.

I did accept that position and from May 1st I will join the training course.

Since completing the program I was grateful enough to move to Calgary, Alberta and got on full time with Westjet Airlines. "TTI was an eye opening for me in the tourism industry. I took a Flight Attendant 3 month diploma course. With such a fantastic instructor it's not just about going to school, it's about meeting new friends around the world and their cultures. We learned Geography, World Codes, Flight Attendant's Manual and we did a lot of hands on activities which makes it easier to learn.

We took many field trips along with many laughs. I’m glad to be a TTI- FA graduate...!!"
