Our Tour Guiding and Directing Certificate program is based on the national occupational standards developed by the Canadian Tourism Human Resource Council. The course focuses on developing your skills on public speaking as well as on the theory of tour management, the mechanics and philosophy of tour escorting.
Using Vancouver city as a vehicle, you learn to gather and process information and deliver commentaries with appropriate timing. You will learn how to handle groups in different international settings, how to plan, cost and market a tour.
Our graduates have become step-on or local city guides, information centre counselors, meet and greet guides at the airport or cruiseship terminal, assistants at convention services and destination representatives of tour operators.
